Coach Mike Carroll grew up in Foley, Alabama where he played for the Foley Lions and graduated in 1992. The Lions were back-to-back 6A State Semi-finalists.
Coach Carroll received an athletic scholarship and played Forward and Mid-fielder for Lambuth University (NAIA) in Jackson, Tennessee until 1995. The Lambuth Eagles won back-to-back Conference Championships in 1994-1995. Coach Carroll transferred to the University of Alabama where he played for Alabama Men’s Soccer Club until he graduated with a History degree from the University. He also served as Head coach for the Men's team in the fall 2004, where they reached the semi-finals of the national tournament.
Coach Carroll began his coaching career at Foley High School where he coached the Lady Lions to an Area Championship in his first season. He served as Head Coach for 6 years at his alma mater in Baldwin Co. where he had 11 players sign scholarships to various colleges and universities across the Southeast.
In Tuscaloosa, he was head coach for WASA (The West Alabama Soccer Assocication) U-17, and U-19 girls select teams. In 2004 & 2005, Coach Carroll was a consultant for the Northridge Jaguars who reached the State 5A semi-finals. In 2006, he was head coach for the Jaguars JV team and an assistant for the varsity team as they repeated as Area Champions and earned another trip to the Final Four. In 2007 he became the Head Coach at Northridge High School.
Coach Carroll has participated in numerous camps and clinics. He still plays on a regular basis and competes in Tournaments and Leagues across the Southeast.
Coach Carroll holds a USSF National “D” license.
