Baker High School Stadium:
Futbol Internacional 2007 will be the one of only 4 world-wide international women's soccer events of its kind outside of the Olympics and World Cup. This will be entirely in Alabama in different locations around the state. Unlike other promoted events, as AYSA and 501c3 non profit, we will also provide free soccer clinics to the communities, and the proceeds will go to supporting our outreach, in both the inner city and rural areas.
Matches will be in stadiums across the state with the opening games in Legion Field Stadium, home of the 1996 Olympic Soccer Matches, in Birmingham. Overall spectator attendance is anticipated at 35,000 with a state wide economic impact (non-local) of over $2,400,000. A wide range of marketing strategies will be utilized including grassroots, television, radio, print, website, and electronic media. A component of our marketing campaign will be every youth soccer player in the state will receive a free players’ ticket to the finals and information from our sponsors! Beyond the scope of just Alabama we will utilize our sister youth soccer state associations and our national association, United State Youth Soccer Association, in our marketing efforts, regionally and nationally.
In support of the 2006 event, were Governor Riley, Senator Shelby, and Congressman Davis? This year we are undertaking a much larger event with a greater reach to the communities both for the event and for the growth of our outreach! Every youth soccer player in the state will receive 1 free ticket with information from our sponsors thanking them for their support!
