He is an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at the University of South Alabama having joined USA in 2002. From 1998 to 1999, he served as an assistant coach at Florida International University. From 1995 to 1998, he was Head Coach for NAIA member St. Thomas University in Miami where he led St. Thomas to a Florida Sun Conference championship in 1996, the Southeast Region Championship and an NAIA National Tournament appearance in 1997. In his final season, he was named Regional Coach of the Year.
Prior to South Alabama, El-Zare spent three years as director of coaching for the Cape Coral Soccer Club in Cape Coral, Fla., and five years with the Florida Olympic Development Program.
El-Zare has been involved in promoting and developing the game of soccer in the community by serving as a Head Coach in several youth soccer programs. He also serves as an instructional staff member for the Mississippi and Florida Youth Soccer Associations.
He received a dual degree in athletic training and physical education from Lincoln Memorial University in 1992. His professional playing career included two years with the Al-Karoom Vinyard F.C. in Egypt.
He is married to Virginia Hall and the couple has one son, Tahir (3).
El-Zare holds a USSF "A" license, an NSCAA Priemer Diploma, as well as other youth and international licenses and certificates.
