Call for Nominations
for
Directors on the Board of Directors
The Mobile Soccer Club (MSC) is seeking volunteers to fill current vacancies on the Board of Directors. Written nominations must be submitted to the Board of Directors beginning on Thursday, August 1, 2008 and ending on August 20, 2008.
This process is intended for all MSC members in good standing to nominate themselves or any other MSC member in good standing with that person’s permission. According to current MSC bylaws in filling vacancies on the Board of Directors, it is necessary to accept nominations from within MSC. The Board of Directors reviews the nominations at the next regular Board Meeting and nominates a replacement by a two-thirds vote of the Board.
Qualified individuals will possess the following traits which include, but are not limited to professional attitude, strong leadership abilities, financial understanding, non-for-profit organizational experience, as well as bringing their own unique management perspective to MSC.
Board of Directors Mission:
MSC seeks leaders willing to collectively support the club’s mission to: “Serve the kids in the Mobile community and surrounding areas by giving leadership thru service on the Board of Directors to insure that MSC is providing the very best in soccer training, practice, instruction, and competitive games to continuously develop each player’s ability and skills so each feels confident to compete against the best in the state and region.”
Qualifications:
Recommended qualifications of individuals nominated include but are not limited to any of the following:
• Be a current, active MSC member in good standing.
• Have the endorsement of another MSC member.
• Be committed to MSC’s mission and the desire for success.
• Be willing to devote an estimated 10 to 40 hours per month to MSC.
• Be a team player and contribute personal and professional qualities that complement those of other board members.
• Be knowledgeable of MSC’s current goals and issues of importance.
• Be committed to advancing the interests of MSC’s members.
A written nomination form to include the following:
• Individual's Information: Name, address, telephone, and email.
• Written Explanation: Provide reasons as to why you believe this individual is a good candidate to be named to the Board of Directors. List areas that you feel this individual would best benefit the organization.
• Current Organization Involvement: List any current and/or past involvement that the nominee has had within Mobile Soccer Club.

The Nomination and Election Process:
As per the current by-laws individual nominations will be accepted from within MSC. The Board of Directors will review the nominations at the next regular meeting. Then the Board of Directors will nominate a replacement by a vote of two-thirds of the Board. It is the Board’s responsibility to nominate those candidates it believes represent the best interests of the children and overall mission of the club.
