Bill Urban
Bill Urban graduated from Druid Hills High School in Atlanta, Georgia in 1987. While in high school, Bill was selected to the DeKalb County All-Star Team in 1987 and he was selected for the Georgia Olympic Development Program team in 1985, 1986 and 1987.
Bill played four years of NCAA Division 1 collegiate soccer at Davidson College where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1991.
Bill coached High School Boys Varsity soccer at Redan High School in 1993, Stone Mountain High School in 1994, and Wheeler High School in 1995.
Bill coached club soccer at Gwinnett Soccer Association in Lilburn, Georgia from 1995-2007. While at Gwinnett, he worked with a variety of age groups and levels of play. He was instrumental in establishing the U10 Academy Program at GSA and served as the Academy Director for GSA in 2005 and 2006. His responsibilities at GSA also included managing of venues for the GSA Super Cup Tournament. He was also the TSI Soccer Store Manager in Gwinnett County, Georgia in 1995 and 1996.
Bill has served as a Staff Coach at several camps including the Emory University Boys and Girls Summer Soccer Camps.
Bill has served as a Freelance Soccer Writer and Reporter for the United States National Team Players Association since 2005. He has written opinion pieces and conducted interviews with players, coaches and team officials for Major League Soccer on behalf of the USNSTPA website, www.ussoccerplayers.com.
Bill served as a Georgia Olympic Development Program coach in 1999, 2001 and 2003.
Bill holds a USSF "B" License and a USSF National Youth License.
