Ruben Risco, Jr. attended McGill-Toolen High School in Mobile, Alabama where his team was a two time State Finalist (1998 & 1999).
During his High School playing career he scored 87 goals. During his senior season he scored 34 goals which is a school record.
He was on the State Olympic Development Team from 1995-2000 and was in the Regional Pool from 1995-1998.
Ruben attended the University of Mobile where he had 10 career goals and 15 assists. He was a member of the University of Mobile NAIA National Championship team in 2002.
Ruben played Semi-Pro soccer witht he Lafayette Swampcats in 2004 and the Cocoa Expo in 2006. He trained with Alianza Lima of the Peru Youth Team (1998) and the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Second Division. He attended the USL Umbro Showcase in 2006.
He was a member of the Who's Who of Sports in Alabama (2001), the Lake Shore Shootout Most Valuable Player (2001) and the Player of the Year in Mobile (2001).
Ruben played club soccer with the Capital City Streaks where he was a State Champion in 1999 and the Vestavia Steamers where he was a State Champion in 2000 and 2001.
Ruben holds a USSF National āDā Coaching License.
