BD was born in Foley, Alabama. He has over sixteen years of soccer coaching experience. He played club soccer at the University of Alabama (1995-1998) and high school soccer at Foley High School (1987-1991) where he was 1990 & 1991 All Area, and All County and where he served as the team captain as well. 
 

He served as an assistant coach at Central High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, JV & Varsity, from 1996-2000 and as the University of Alabama Men's Club Team assistant from 1999-2000.  He has coached club soccer with the Falcons Soccer Club, BCUFC, Blast and MSC. 
 

He became a varsity assistant coach with Baldwin County High School in 2001 and he has served as the Robertsdale High School varsity coach from 2004 to the present where he was selected as the Baldwin County Boys Soccer Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2007.  He has led Robertsdale to back to back playoff trips for the first time in school history including their first playoff win in 6A and a trip to the Elite 8 in 2008. 
 

He holds a Bachelor's degree from The University of Alabama in English and History.  He and his family are members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Robertsdale, Alabama.  He is a member of the Loxley Optimist Club.

 
BD is married to Kristi Black and they have one son, Jonah. 

BD holds a National ā€œDā€ License from the USSF and certificates from the FA in Football Fitness, Coaching Children, Player and Match Analysis and Planning, Preparing and Evaluating Coaching Sessions.
